About Me

I am a daughter, a wife, a mother, a teacher and a friend. I am a Spartan (GO GREEN) and an Aggie (WHOOP). I am a huge college football and basketball fan (March Madness) and a dog lover and mother of 12 paws! I am a singer, and a writer, an avid reader and my favorite place to be is on a boat!

I was born and raised in Michigan but have spent most of my adult life living in Texas. So I am a yankee that says y'all with a funny northern accent. I had a small stint in our nation's capital when my husband's career in the Army took us to VA from 2012-2014.  Oh- so that means I am also an Army wife! I was thankful for our time in VA as it allowed me to work for  DC Public Schools in the Office of Teaching and Learning. I was honored to provide professional development for teachers on Guided Reading for almost a year and a half.

I treasure my memories of being a classroom teacher, but I'm now blessed to work full time helping teachers in my state of Texas and across the country as an Independent Consultant. I travel to schools and consult on all things Literacy. Working for teachers allows me to make a difference in the life of more children.
